Library Cards

Who can get a library card?

Library cards are free to all residents of Georgia. Persons who own property, attend school, or are employed in Georgia are eligible for a free PINES library card. Users from non-participating Georgia PINES libraries have the same privileges as PINES library card users.

Property owners residing outside of Georgia may be required to show proof of ownership, such as a tax bill or tax deed. Those who attend school in Georgia may be required to show proof of attendance in Georgia. Persons who are employed in Georgia may be required to show proof of employment in Georgia.

Lost and Stolen Cards

Library cards are required in order to check out materials and use a computer. Lost and/or stolen cards may be replaced for $2.00.

Loan Periods

All DVD's check out for one week. Books, magazines, CD's, and audiobooks check out for two weeks. Most items may be renewed. Items can be renewed in person, over the phone, or by using My Account.

Items that are not returned on time will accrue overdue fines. The overdue fines for all DVD's are $0.50 per item, per day. Overdue fines for all other items are $0.20 per item, per day.
